Brand new service: If you are requesting water services to a brand new building or home, please call customer service directly at 207-761-8310. Brand new means there has never been water connected to this location before or there has been substantial renovations done between the last connection of service and now.

Commercial, Industrial, Governmental or private fire service: You can not request activation of service electronically. Please call customer service at 207-761-8310

We are required to provide the following information regarding your services

You will receive a water and/or sewer bill from Portland Water District. If you are a sewer customer, your municipality sets your sewer rates. PWD is only their sewer billing and collection agent.

Water services can be disconnected for nonpayment of BOTH water and sewer delinquent balances. Delinquent water and sewer charges are lienable against the property.

You have the option to designate a third party to receive copies of the bills and notices. Please call customer service if you wish to add.

You have the option to sign up for paperless billing, make payments online and to set up auto pay or pay by text once you receive your first bill.

There is an activation fee of $ 22.00 that will be charged on your first bill.

PWD will review your request and email you (at the email address provided above) if further information is needed and to confirm installation.
